Tyre Recommendations?

Post by Fletch » Wed Jun 11, 2014 10:44 pm

Hi Guys... I haven't bought tyres in a long time and am no-longer up on current offerings.

I need 195/55-15 or maybe 205/55-15. In the past I've had and liked Toyo T1, Bridgestone Re711, G-III and Adrenalin-Re001.

I'd like to stay around or under $200 per tyre (inc fitting and balancing).

What are the current models from the big names, and are they any good?

Are any of the new names from China worth considering? I'm looking for equivalent performance as the ones I've had in the past..

Cheers,

Fletch.

Shouldn't the size you're looking for be 195 or 205/50/15? 55 seems tall

You are indeed correct... faulty memory on my part.

195/50-15 is my preferred size.... sometimes 205's are cheaper in the same tire?

I've heard good things about the Bridgestone REs. That's what I intended to buy next but I've been forced to change my tyre choice due to strange sizing

Bridgestone RE002 was quite good for me. They had a deal on at the time so it was a bit cheaper.

I've been using toyo proxies for the last couple of cars, they hold well and wear better than the bridgestones I had prior. Good value and safety.

Toyo T1Rs, I have them on my turbo and they are awesome! Since putting them on I have so much more confidence when driving in all conditions.

I have RE002s all around on my car- Really good tyre, especially in the wet. I had Toyo Proxes on my MR2 turbo and didn't like their wet performance.

I just got 2 new RE002's for about $170 each fitted last week Ring around!
