Stud pattern

Post by Donovan » Thu Mar 13, 2014 9:28 am

I am knocking around the idea of changing my wheel stud pattern from 4 stud to 5 stud, most likely 5x114 as that seems the most common in 5 stud for the sizes that I am looking at.

This will open a whole new range of possibilities of wheel options to me.

Anyone know what is involved, how hard it is, and how much it might cost?

Don't say it's because there are more 5 lug wheels on the market, .... and your rear hubs are 5 lug, and you want to make your fronts 5 lug too.

Didn't bother reading the response above as there was a lot of information. Sorry if this is a repeat...

I do know that the rx7 things (very technical i know) can be used as the v6 miata on miata.net that featured a while back had them. As to how, not sure but it might be an avenue to look into

More than $4K-$5K cause that's how much a mad set of 3 piece wheels is going to cost me.

not to sure on price , but with what they charged you for the rear hubs and axeles last time. having said that without pulling one side of the rear apart to see exactly how they did it could workout fesible, the fronts aren't that hard its just the rear

But on the line of stupid thoughts, another one from the uneducated, is it possible to drill extra holes in a 5x114 wheel to make it a multifit, or only really can do that with a 4x114?

If the wheel has no recesses on the rear then you can '9 hole' it, but only to the same pcd
