Diff oil for a NA

Post by warrior » Sun Mar 17, 2013 11:13 am

I have just changed the diff oil in my NA and the gearbox is next, my question is: How much oil does a NA diff take?

I thought it was appox 1ltr but I only got 600-700ml in it before it started to dribble out?

Just wanted to know how much it should hold.

Apparantly 1L. Was the car level or jacked up when you did it?

varies with diff, I had a little left after filling mine but nearly a litre. But mines the NA8, torsen, open and viscous all differ slightly.

Is yours 1600 or 1800?

I used NULON 75W-90 performance smooth shift oil for both diff and gearbox. it is a sythenthic oil and worked great. I also use there oils in ALL my cars and again I cant fault it. SUPERCHEAP sell it but if is very dear ($35.00 lltr). Look on trade me as there are a couple of places selling 4ltr packs (which will do diff and gearbox) for around $80.00 from memory.
