Im 90mm front and 100mm rear. Thats the lowest I can go without modifying my springs. The shocks are good for lower, would need coilover springs and new perches.

Bilsteins :!: Rebuildable, amazing brand rep, revalvable, and cheaper than coilovers. Hit up Autolign
I read somewhere you can get a coilover kit for the bilstein shocks, is that true?

Theyre essentially just coilover sleeves. However, if you are wanting to do that, may as well get some Ohlins...

They are. Brand new DFVs will set you back a solid $2800 USD exc shipping and GST. Worth more than the car... You'd only get them if
1) money is not an issue (get an S2000?)
2) you're serious and want the best (and want to beat Furai on the skidpad), refer to 1
3) Ohlins are just awesome 8) but generally you'd do other things loooong before you'd consider Ohlins

Best price I've seen for second hand sets are $2000 AUD, $2200 USD, $2600NZD from Japan. <-- exc GST & shipping

Pretty sure when I talked to Autolign, the converting the Bilsteins from the clip to the coilover sleeves was surprisingly cheap all up. They were saying that a lot of the guys in the MX5 club have been doing it?

Still a lot cheaper than new Ohlins at $3400 + shipping / GST which will set you back over 4k

I think ive got my meanings messed up about how low i want it, i'd be happy with 90-100mm to chassis rails (think CR classes it as moderately slammed)
Btw Im at 100mm and its no where near low enough Ive got so much wheel gap  and its deffinately not mod slammed

Cost me $1800 for Bilsteins, Coilover springs, Valving, turned down spring seats, tophat adapters. You can get coilover kits from Jamex with springs for about $400(I dont know how much the ones from Autolign are), ad onto that $900ish for shocks and another $400 for valving and you have a set.

If I was going to do mine again, I would buy Bilsteins and revalve them. Then get a set of custom springs made probably. But I am really happy with my setup.
