Octane and Timing

zorruno, The Link ECU, I believe, pulls back the timing after knock is detected, and in the zone it occurs, and that retard is not restored until the car has been stopped, and turned off, and restarted. (correct Fletch, Jeff?). I image the knock sensor in the standard ecu works similarly. Gary On Fr...

Hi Dave, Looking at the graphs the 18 deg one offers more torque, but slightly less top end power than the 14 deg one. Only with the free flow exhaust did the 18 deg one offer both more power and torque. We're talking about a modest increase in comparison to what is possible with super and turbo cha...

Yep, of course... but Lou works for the distributor, so although he was being helpful to you he pointed you to one of their resellers and made a sale... This is different to Lou saying "I have a such and such alarm, and am really happy with it, and I got it installed by so and so and they were reall...

Lou this is verging on sales... which I thought the list forbade. Information is great, but active selling is not. I know there is another list member who is a representative for Dynatron and he is cautious about being too obvious in his information... and avoids selling on the list... On Fri, 29 Au...

Toyo TS1 Tyre Cost............

I recently went through the tyre exercise and bought Goodyear F1 GSD3 tyres in 195/50/15. They were around $200 each. I have only been able to put 300k on them so far as I have had hand surgery and driving the MX5 is currently out... but so far they seem pretty good. Compared to the Toyo T1 Plus tha...

They're not that much, maybe $100 from memory. If you're in there doing cambelt etc as part of the rebuild I'd replace the water pump as well.
