Thanks for the part sprtsta, have managed to put the door lock in this morning.

OMG, what a fiddly job that was, most likely didn't make things any easier having a 2 and 4 year old trying to "help" as well.

Defiantly not a job for those with fat fingers.

Yeah, have seen that engine up on trademe before. Just haven't seen on of these put in there, and don't know the size of it compared to the Lexus option (I know it has the dimensions on the site, but I don't know the dimensions of the Lexus 4.0L. Also the Lexus engines seem a bit cheaper, about $140...

NA Door Lock

I have just gone to put an alarm in my NA MX5, along with central locking, but it turns out the locking mechanism on the drivers door is completely stuffed, and now doesn't lock either with the key or with the alarm remote. The guys doing the install have bypassed the central locking motor for the t...

Same photo on the Aussie site, so would assume it is the same kit and lights? But the US price is half of what the Australian site is charging for what looks to be the same thing. I would assume that the Australians would have similar regulations to do with headlights as we do here. http://www.mx5ma...

Just been told about this site below. Seems they do a complete kit for the LS engine conversion into a MX5, everything that you would ever need, already made up.

Is this just of the 302 engine, or any engine that I end up getting. If the latter might take you up on that offer

Try Don at Autoway Service Centre in Hamilton I think he has done a few conversions of various types Yeah, have already talked to Don there. He hasn't done a V8 conversion. Has done one with a 13B rotary in it, so if I go down that track will get him to do the conversion. He said that he knew someo...

V8 Engine swap

I am looking at getting my power in my little MX5, as I am setting it up to be a track day car, and maybe even doing a Targa in it. I don't really want to do the turbo thing, and just looking a replacing the engine with something else with more power, but naturally aspirated. So my choices are most ...

i am thinking of changing them soon so may be up for grabs <----------------click here Look at the pics in the garage, looking for the units that are still pop ups rather than fixed settings. What is the lighting performance of those lights you have in there at night time? Plus in the pics in the g...

Thanks Des - Up in Auckland (have updated profile to reflect this) so yeah, a bit out of the way to have a look. I don't know if those other ones use different lights, as all 3 seemed a bit different, but that was just from the pics. The ones in pommy land were slagging off the US ones, saying that ...

NA Twin Headlight Setup

I have just purchased a 1990 NA 1.6 with dreams and aspirations (and nightmares of parting with large wads of cash) of modifying this wee beasting into a track day car and eventually Targa car. How ever in my quest for success I have discovered a little annoyance that I don't think I can live with, ...
