For reference, how big is that intercooler? The one in mine (turbo) is 550x265x65 core I beleive (biggest I could fit) but that's cos it's for track duty. By the looks of yours and some of those components, I'd say it's running too close to det to remove that intercooler. Intercooler is 450 wide, 1...

Ill keep it in there for now...the weight of a fiber glass front bumper also doesn't fit with the 'light weight baby!' philosophy! I suspect that that size was installed for 'future proofing' the car....it really needs proper engine management (only running a fuel pressure reg and a timing retarder....

Make that Mx5 number 4. I decided to buy another one, this time already supercharged, caged, certed etc etc and the other sold within 3 hours of me putting it on trademe (didn't even get a chance to put it on here) On the drive home from Masterton, a hose came off the oil cooler so had to get towed ...

Awesome, thank you.
Yes please, if you can send a parts list and, if possible, a list of recommended supporting parts (i.e. Radiator, HD Clutch etc?) that would be awesome sauce.

here's a related question- Why would the upper mount bolts have different amounts of thread showing above the nuts between left front and right front when fully tightened? I've just installed a standard NB front tower brace on my NA, on the drivers side when done up, there is still 3-4 rows of threa...

Hard to tell if it happens in all gears as it's speed dependent and it does happen when coasting...but generally I'd say yes. The previous owner said the prop shaft was rebuilt....so the Universal joint could be a possibility....its coming from around the gearbox so it'd be the front one if so.

Any ideas what would be causing this gearbox noise? 1) Doesn't change between clutch engaged or disengaged 2) Is speed dependent, not engine speed dependent. 3) Sounds a bit like i've got straight cut gears (a whirring) but occasionally get a squealing too. I haven't checked the PPF alignment...the ...

Im back...MX5 number 3. Make that 4.

Hi guys, I bought another MX5...this time, back to a NA in British Racing Green :) Body is tidy, there are few mechanical things to sort out (i.e. weeping rocker cover gasket, gearbox sounds pretty rough...not sure if it's a throwout bearing or something else). So, when's the next hoon.....I mean, s...

Jared/TeamJelly- SC14 Supercharger Kit questions

Hi- I was going to just send an email but thought it would be good to have the thread/info on here for future reference etc. a) Can you post some pictures of the kit installed please? b) Can you supply the parts as a kit, with a MS loaded with a base tune? (the idea to save money by installing mysel...

Yeah the email function seems a bit outdated now so I wouldn't miss it. I think the Garage is a good addition though, it's good to see what people have done and what it cost etc.

If you are simply 're-painting' in the same colour as the car is now, then that cuts down on a lot of the work since not all nook and cranny needs to be sprayed.

Would recommend the Re003 if you are 'keen' driver, but if not, the MY would be fine (more a touring tyre than a sports tyre). Horses for courses really, there isn't too much point in spending extra $$ on sports tyres if you aren't going to drive them hard.

Can't out drag a WRX? Just go around him...

a bit of a video from Hampton downs on Saturday- Was tussling with a WRX who was clearly fast on the straights but pretty woeful around the corners and under brakes...So I did what any self respecting MX5 driver would do and out cornered him lol
