Yeah I priced up getting them redone by wheel people a few months ago but it wasn't worth it as sprsta says. However, spray painting is no problem for me (I have the gear and enjoy doing it), but stripping them by hand is just not on the cards. I did one NSR250 wheel a couple of years ago and it was...

On the subject of certifiers, how much does it usually cost to certify say, new coilover suspension and what is usually involved?

Mag wheel stripping........

Hi Guys

Anyone know of a good, inexpensive method of bead blasting or stripping mag wheels in the Auckand area. Mine are flaking the clear and are a bit shabby looking.

I am happy to spray paint the centres and polish the rims but need the old paint off first.....

Thank you, The measurements will help me figure this out. I have decide to slow down on the seat thing, usually things tend to fall in to place better when not forced. When I do a couple of track days and meet some other MX5 people(i'll join the club at some stage) I am sure this will all fall in to...

Cheers, that would be good, you are a similar size to me. The list on Miata is extensive but many of the seats listed are no longer available or not available here. Plus the measurements seem quite varied, seats listed have shoulder measurements of 15 inches to 21 inches. How some seats can only be ...

SPRSTA and Gravelben, would you mind measuring the widest part of the shoulders of your seats for me? Could you also confirm the windows, doors and roof (hard and soft) all fit or not...with them installed? It is hard trying to figure out what will fit and won't without buying something and actually...

Hi Aidwano, yes i have done that and it is definatley a vast improvement.

But at 6'0" and 100kg's it could definately be better....

I think the seat frame is probably just a little too small. It is very close though.

Cheers

Hi Ben, is this road legal? I thought you weren't allowed to mess with the standard rails at all...?

PS thank you for the emails re your car, a combination of too far away and a bit more than I wanted to spend. Good luck with the sale, It seems like a really nice car!

Thanks Slydit, I appreciate the reply. However it has extractors and no heat shield.

But Miata forum have suggested cam belt not installed correctly and slapping valve cover. Certainly what it sounds like....

Hopefully will find out early this morning......and be CHEAP!! :)

Cheers

HELP - Strange noise coming from engine!!!

Hi Guys Our 91 1600 split a radiator hose recently and got fairly hot, we have replaced Rad, water pump, hoses etc and had the timing belt done at the same time. About 2 weeks later i noticed a strange noise from the front of the car when deccalerating down hill. This noise (upon closer examination)...

Recommended Brake pads for NA - road and track

Hi Guys First post here, been lurking for nearly a year.I have a silver 1600cc 91 that has terrible pads in it and would like suggestions for a suitable replacement. It gets spirited road driving at the moment and will very soon be doing track days moving towards racing of some sort (recently retire...
