Cheers guys...2 less joins plus weight saving(?) plus precautionary maintenance while steering rack is out was the motivation for the change to the NB hose. Would consider a silicone hose if I could locate one at a reasonable price - any suggestions?????

Replacing the factory door speakers with some quality Pioneer 2 ways was most certainly an improvement (along with a better head unit of course.), plus some JVC 4 inch speakers in the drivers headrest - some foam trimming required.

My 1993 1.8 is NZ new, and the original wheels are 14x6 (45mm off set)with 185/60 tyres. A popular option is to put 15x6 wheels on (NB rims - 40mm offset - are a good option in my view), but with 195/50 tyres in 15 inch, your revs will be approx the same. The MX5 is quite sensitive to wheel/tyre cha...

About to buy a 1 piece NB lower radiator hose to replace the original 2 piece lower hose on my NA. I believe them to be a straight swap? Anyone able to comment?

Fitting depowered rack/type R tie rod ends/urethane rack bushes and cleaning up the mess made by 800mls of power steering fluid which deposited itself throughout the engine bay 2 weeks ago in the Teretonga long distance race - bummer!

My NZ new 93 1.8 had no headrest speakers, though there was space for them and there should be plugs coming through the carpet under the seats.

From time to time he has deals on freight...

He builds race cars and races them, so knows what he is talking about and doesn't sell bling...

Always had great service from him.

Did you order RPF1s with 35 or 41 offset? I have 35s and they have enough thread (just)...put spacers on and you will need long wheel studs, open wheel nuts and a supply of wheell bearings to replace yours possibly on a regular basis. It is well known/advertised that RPF1s will not fit over many aft...

More amazingly, their Motul RBF600 is only $17USD And then add freight on top. Even just using USPS from Goodwin it is costing US$55 for the freight on a set of Energy bushes for my rear subframe. I doubt the carriers would take brake fluid either. Getting my rear Energy bushes and diff bushes fitt...

It would help others to make suggestions if you posted what you intend to do with your car ie DD, track days, race etc etc and list some of your suspension upgrade to date.... There are plenty of people trying to improve their cars performance while driving round on huge heavy wheels, crap tyres, 20...

Ross at MX5 Mart is now selling LEDs for interior replacements...easy swap.
Another way(not as good) is to turn the existing lights through 180 degrees and you get a much more useful light at no cost at all!

I discussed at length with the tech officer at Motorsport NZ office the fitting of a very nice Mazdaspeed roll cage for my car (for competition purposes) and he explained that only roll protection built and certified in NZ would ever meet our scruitineering standards. Obviously there are exceptions ...

My guess is that the previous owner would have had no insurance if he had an accident while towing a car on an unbraked trailer. The average car/suv is rated to tow 750kg max unbraked (and some a good deal less!)

From what I hear the collector and primary tubing on all off the shelf miata headers are to small if you do any head work, Cams, oversized pistons, hi-comp, etc... as others have said either engine is ok for forced induction with out any mods whatsoever. of course the 1800 will make more HP simply because of the extra 200cc. the 1800 cars have bigger brakes and diffs, but they can be easily fitted in to 1600 cars so its no biggy. dont chase NA HP in an mx5..y...
