Everyone can post images by using a image host such as imgur or imageshack. This also takes a bit of a load off the forums.

I've filled my car up when the needle was sitting just below the E line and it took 39 liters. I think they have a 42 liter tank so that was cutting it pretty close. Usually takes 38 liters to fill when the needle is on E.

You should try owning an old motorbike, they don't even have a fuel gauge!

Well it seems ok now. It was low on coolant last night when I checked it. Got it up to temperature and took it for a decent drive, no overheating... :? Oil level was down just a touch but it doesn't look like oil and coolant have mixed. The front crank seal is leaking, I wonder if the overheating ma...

Only one fan and it's working fine.

Obviously I need to do a bit more problem solving. The overheating and loss of oil at the same time has me quite worried. Maybe it's just a coincidence.

You posted about a failed coolant hose a couple of weeks ago, did you get that sorted out? Perhaps the oil seal failed as a result of overheating? Yeah I got that sorted. So far I've replaced both heater hoses and both lower radiator hoses. The top hose looks pretty old but it's not leaking or anyt...

I would guess you have a... surprise, surprise... leaking front crankshaft seal. That'd probably be the best place to start. Yeah I figured it's probably the seal. I've just never seen one get so bad that it leaks this much oil. It let out probably about 500ml's over a couple hours sitting in the g...

Is the oil milky? Looks a bit milky in the oil cap but I'm told this may be from condensation. unfortunately I haven't had a chance to have a good look at it or even start it up again, pretty much just parked it in the garage last night and left it there. Chris, yeah I saw that this morning, don't ...

I think I've killed my engine

So my engine got a bit hot on the way home last night, didn't quite go to the end of the temp gauge but it got pretty close. There was lots of gurgling noises when I turned it off but no coolant lost. The other Problem is that it's dropped a bunch of oil, looks like it has leaked out the front crank...

A lot of older Porsche's have factory aluminium wheel nuts, it will be interesting if they try to fail one of those for wof.

No, I've already replaced that one, and yes it failed due to oil contamination. The hose that's failed this time is the one that goes to the engine from the lower radiator hose/pipe. I thoguht it would be prudent to replace all of them now as this is the second hose to fail in the last couple of wee...

NA8 coolant hoses

Some of my coolant hoses are looking a bit tired so I'm thinking about getting this silicon coolant hose kit from mx5 mania in Australia; http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mazda-MX5-Silicone-Radiator-Water-Hose-Kit-BLACK-NA8-94-97-1-8L-MX-5-NA-set-/130988649063?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e7f882a...

An RCA cable basically just combines two wires, so you should be able to get an RCA cable and just chop one end off and you will be left with two bare wires. I'm no expert though.

Now I see why. Yeah not trying to be rude or anything but that picture pretty much explains everything. 10-15 Years ago it was much easier to get away with a dodgy looking car, then the whole boyracer/illegal street drags thing got way out of hand and ruined it for everyone. Either tidy up your car...
