Re: Peter Kite - Funeral

Just a re-post as the email functionality was broken and this wouldn't have been sent out. All, a bit of a shock but those who knew Peter (DRGN1) may not know that he passed away in the weekend: "Peter Kite. On 5 February 2011 (suddenly) at his home. Dearly loved Soulmate and best friend of Linda. W...

Peter Kite - Funeral

All, a bit of a shock but those who knew Peter (DRGN1) may not know that he passed away in the weekend: "Peter Kite. On 5 February 2011 (suddenly) at his home. Dearly loved Soulmate and best friend of Linda. Words are few, thoughts are deep, memories are forever. A celebration of Peter's life will b...

Server Move - Site Outage Yesterday

All, the MX5 Forum web server was moved to a new location at short notice yesterday, and there was a few hours of site downtime.

Apologies for that - it all seems to be back up correctly now.

Thanks

Only if you can find one second hand... from someone who gets the 'more power' bug! Importing is the only real option to get new - there is just not the market in NZ for anyone to stock them.

cheers.

Re: Emanage Blue software support tool.

Does anyone here still have the greddy emanage software support kit? I am in need of one. Cheers Jim You need the software... and the lead? I gave Don at Autoway a laptop with the software on it. I have a lead - but I have never tested it - it is apparently an aftermarket one and I'm not sure if it...

Hmmm, unfortunately the CAS doesn't seem to be the problem. It took me about an hour to get a second hand one installed.... it is a real pain to seat properly. Lots of Vaseline needed and patience. Was about to remove the rocker cover when finally it fitted. The engine seems to have the same problem...

Just found a really neat looking 3 window top on ebay (search under daveshouze) plastic windows, but will give similar 3/4 rear view as my hardtop. The thing I dislike about the stock top is the limited 3/4 vision and that'll likely be worse still with glass as the opening is smaller I think If it ...

the CAS is out easily enough - a bench test doesn't seem to give much of anything on the connectors (looks like hall effect sensors x2) - I'm told they burn out occasionally? Mazda want $925 for a new one ;) I think second hand will be fine...

No spark... possibly CAS broken

Was driving happily yesterday morning, but in the afternoon the car would not start and had to have it trucked home. Compression, oil pressure, and cranking all fine - a screwdriver to block test shows no spark. Suggestion given to me is likely cam angle sensor - this is a 1.8L 94 and apparently the...

I would go with ignition switch problems - have a search on this site for "ignition switch" - as it heats up the contacts likely move. There have been a number of people over the years with ignition switches causing electrical problems. You could pull it apart and clean it (contact cleaner) which is...

You Cruise by MX-5 - iPhone App driving game

For all you iPhans (which I am sadly not one), Mazda Germany released a free Mazda-MX5 driving game for the iPhone last month. Called "You Cruise by Mazda MX-5" , it is apparently based on the Rally Master Pro game, which driving physics have been reworked to offer a higher top speed and modified ba...

did you get this sorted? My 94 1.8 had an idle on cold problem for a while (wouldn't idle at all for the first few mins after starting)

Don at Autoway Services sorted it for me when he did other work - I forgot to ask what he had done though.

the images were a bit large to be displayed 'inline' on the page so were turned into links/downloads.

I upped the size limit slightly so they can be seen on the page.
