You have 10 inch discs so they are not the NB sport brakes. They should use the same pads as the '94-00 1.8s

It's not the oxygen sensor. The O2 sensor is used for closed-loop fuel control once the car is warmed up. The main mixture control during warm-up is the engine coolant temp sensor. This would be where I'd look first. It's located on the water outlet on the back of the engine. There are two sensors: ...

You can probably get something reasonable in the $130 - $150 each price range from a good tyre manufacturer (Toyo, Yokohama, Goodyear etc.)

A friend has Toyo TEO plus tyres on his 1990; they weren't expensive and they get the job done. Grip is good, even in the wet.

Divide by 56 to convert lb/inch to kgf/mm i.e. 500lb/inch springs are ~9kgf/mm :)

IMO running the E10 ethanol blend in a stock NA is a waste of money that could lead to fuel system issues. The car was designed to run regular unleaded fuel (~90 RON in Japan), most of them should be fine with 91 RON, even with slight timing advance (running 95 in this case would give a safety margi...

I've been using a cheap FFM open face motorcycle helmet for gymkhanas (European 05 R22 standard). It's probably adequate for low speed events.

Motorsport helmets are more expensive, have stricter standards, can be used with forward head restraints etc.

Likely needs LVV certification.

The seat rails aren't compatible with the seat, thus it has been modified in non-permitted way.

Hey there, welcome. Extra hardware is needed to fit the hard top. It's possible the car already has it if it once had a hard top. The hard tops have an extra pair of latches behind each door. You need to fit striker plates for them to latch onto: http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c349/byrdmen/2000%2...

Just noticed you said neither the washer nor wipers come on when you pull stalk. It's probably not the pump, I'd be focusing on the stalk.

It looks like the washer motor is powered directly from the WIPER fuse. The motor is power side switched by the stalk -- no relay to run the washer pump.

The washer motor has controlled power on the blue/orange wire, and ground on the black.

Attached are relevant wiring diagrams for a '91

Also handbrake performance in MX5's is notoriously bad, a lot of them need proper adjustment afaik. All 3 of mine have been laughable. Absolutely. The rear caliper has an adjuster that sets the piston position for the handbrake and it must be wound back using an allen key in the adjuster on the bac...

I've been running TRW pads on my NA8 for the last 18 months. I've been reasonably happy with them once they were bedded in properly. They've been reasonably quiet and not excessively dusty. I used them at a track day at Pukekohe; they handled it pretty well. In my last session I had a bit of brake f...

No. The pads are held in place by the caliper bracket. The NA8 bracket holds a larger pad and accommodates a larger diameter brake rotor.

I don't recall the Miata having a rear solid axle. Maybe that was an option in the American market.

A manual rack is probably much easier if you want to keep the car street legal too. From what I've read, the LVVTA seem to want you to get a steering specialist to depower the rack

In the Rod Grainger manual (Veloce Publishing) it says: Reconnect the cables at the brakes, setting the adjuster/locknuts so that the compensator lies at right angles to the front cable. The compensator will take care of small imbalances between the two rear cable adjustments, but it helps if the in...

The handbrake cable setup is a 3 piece affair; a short cable goes from the lever to a sprung balancer sitting at the back of the transmission tunnel. From there, a cable comes off to each wheel. At each caliper, there are some adjusters that can be used to take up slack in the cable. These should be...

This seems kind of silly, but who knows how the courts will interpret the law.

The Audio Home Recording Act seems typical of US copyright laws... dated and solely pandering to deep-pocketed industries.

Do you mean the latches for the top? They can be adjusted fairly easily to set the tension on the roof
