There were a few left over tidbits since I got her road legal and I've really neglected working on her for a while. The upside is the car drives perfectly fine and hasn't skipped a beat. I have been driving the last month or so with no radiator overflow. The factory one is disgustingly huge and sits...

Remember these figures are all factory hp at the flywheel. The car probably makes something around 60hp at the wheels like everyone elses. Give it a drive, give another few a drive. If they feel the same buy it.

So an update is due... Since my last post I obviously got the car running but had a reasonably long list of little things left to fix. I decided with a week and a half until I visit USA for a month, it was probably a good time to do it. Here she is as she sits now, still got to deal to the loom but ...

Well ain't this long overdue... Decided the rusty poo bit of metal on the back of the bumper was too yuck so cleaned that up and threw some black on her. I'm long overdue to get some decent photos up of the car but that will happen soon enough. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/618/21244387370_8442530d...

The Blue/Black connector is for the ignition capacitor -- small 1 inch-ish black box with two wires coming out of it. Attaches to the igniter bracket. Thanks very much for your help. I've been told that the black, blue wire is charcoal canister, is it possible I've got the 2 wires there (Same plug ...

It's rebuilt, and it's easy enough now to swap a block and a head. The remainder of the work is painting, dealing with the bay etc. There's still a few things on the motor that need to be swapped out for the new versions.

Now for the fun stuff. I managed to get the steering rack bush in properly using a g clamp. I was a bit concerned it was too tight but this sorted the issue straight away. Toe looks to be about 3 degrees out total so not horrible. Will get it sorted with the alignment. Got the trottle bracket and ca...

Figured I'd start this one with a call for help. I'm down to my final few plugs and actually can't identify them. Then a reasonable update and minimal left to do. Above the gearbox there are 2 plugs like so - there are also 2 matching plugs in my unwrapped part of the loom that I've made a mess of. ...

Cheers for that. Have checked the sizes with callipers and it doesn't appear to be out on the lips. Will strip the paint off in case. I'm leaning towards the rotor being slightly out.

Not a huge update but one of the last hurdles as far as the car goes. Got on the reservoir covers from Alex at Moonlight Racing. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/265/20231520720_b1f9bb397b_b.jpg IMAG0935 by Jarred McLachlan , on Flickr https://farm1.staticflickr.com/421/20419559705_a93df27fcf_b.jpg IM...

Anyhow, more work on it this arvo. Got the loom at the back of the motor sussed, and have ordered some of that corrugated plastic tubing to hide everything in until I tuck/rewire the bay. I've still got a metric shit tonne of wires underneath the car I can't work out. I assume at least half are for ...

Bit of a quick update in between rain and storms. Attacked the bay tonight. The loom looked way worse than I remembered so I was a bit daunted.. Nevertheless onward! Oh wait. I already need help. What is this plug? Short wiring right up near the washer motor. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/431/19889...

FINALLY sorted the grease nipple setup for the upper control arms. Can now grease the entire front end without removing anything from the car, hopefully in under 30 mins which should make looking after these poly bushes a treat... https://farm1.staticflickr.com/454/19825330538_07aa9a1c68_b.jpg IMAG0...

Snapfrozen... is that Hammerite paint on the ppf? Yessir. Last update until Sunday now. Not sure what the plans are re: this weekend and getting the motor in. The weather isn't great and I've had another setback with these dam grease nipples. Got the powerplant frame finished. There were a few spot...

Not alot to show for what I've done this weekend. Unfortunately a combo of the weather and airsoft yesterday have put the build back a week but life goes on. Day was great however, MASSIVE rain (35mm in 2 hours) and wind meant it was a very tactical game. I have 1 vacuum hose and the fuel lines left...

Where in Auckland are you? It's as simple as removing the compressor and following the lines and unbolting shit. If it still blows cold air you have 2 choices. Assuming it's an original system the gas will be harmful foe the environment so when you open it all up it will release it. Or you could pay...

Go for one of the larger companies as they have better buying power and if they break it or similar going in you're less likely to have problems. Make sure the car is under cover so if you discover any rust etc and decide to hold off you don't have to cover it. I've used novus for my civic and it ca...

Right. So parts update. Some shit arrived and I'm happy. I cleaned a thing or 2 and now I'm cold, wet and the hose won the fight with my PPF. Finished up the knuckles so they're ready to go back in happily. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/543/19525910179_f1560f469e_b.jpg IMAG0839 by Jarred McLachlan ...

Well this is probably the biggest update this car has seen in some time. I've got a deadline for our new location and a large package recently arrived with a bunch of stuff in it... Also had my steering rack converted to manual professional by a place called Panorama Power Steering. For anyone in N...
