Re: Newbie Questions regarding NA MX5 Turbo etc

Welcome. For a rollbar you're probably best to get one made, i got mine done by chubb racing in auckland. Good luck on the hardtop hunt coming into winter, their prices have skyrocketed in the past few years. Whatever you do for an exhaust dont go straight pipe, its illegally loud for road or track ...

Depends how the cars driven, if its launching on drag slicks you'll break stuff quick.

Re: Anybody running twin DCOE carbs?

One of the guys recently installed a twin weber carb setup on his 1.6, seems to go well although there seems to have been some ecu trickery to get the igniton curve to work

Chuck a real ecu on it and get rid of the crude engine management, a proper tune will do wonders. I'd recommend getting a link ecu for easier access to tuners that will touch them

Those are all too big, will be hitting boost too late. Just go with the usual td04 and go from there if you need more

They make the zii's in 185/60-14, its the control tyre for 2kcup and is the grippiest road tyre I've used, mine were $175 each

Is it on standard springs and shocks? Sounds like the right front has sagged over the years.

Also just re-reading your post, the most accurate measurement is center of hub to the arch not hub to ground as tyre pressures can effect that measurement

:o I love these sorts of trailers, can easily get a lowered car onto them.
Single axle braked so should easily be enough for an mx5 + spare parts/tools

What are they worth?

Its your car dude, just note that the boost controller may increase boost to areas that havent been tuned yet and blow your motor up, but hey its not my car do what you want.

If it were my car i'd leave it alone or take it to a tuner and do it properly.

A boost controller only does that, it controls a solenoid which determines the boost level(It should not be messing with the map at all), the link has a proper boost control function inbuilt, it just has to be set up and wired correctly

Just use the links analogue output to control a boost solenoid, no need to make stuff more complicated, also make sure the ecu has been tuned properly for higher boost otherwise it can/will blow up. The car will be running off rpm vs map sensor reading, in this mode the tps is used to tell the ecu w...

^Would be C-Plus pads then, they are made by bendix.
They are cheap but still quite decent for stock power.

Can get part numbers tomorrow from work

Really depends how hard you are pushing it
