V8 Engine swap

One of the mechanics at Powerhaus is running an American V8 in his Mx5. I believe he did the conversion himself basing it on the Monster Miata setup.Cheers, Peter Powerhaus Wellington http://maps.gstatic.com/intl/en_nz/mapfiles/transparent.png 160 Tinakori Road, Thorndon 6011(04) 499 8715 On Mon, Se...

Newbie

I ordered the new H2 sealed Hella units which were reasonable. Can't recall how much, probably $50 each or so. Easy job to replace yourself as they come with instructions and the difference in light is heaps! A very good upgrade to do!

Cold air intake for an NB & aerodynamics.

The scoop is under the radiator. The opening is wide but flat. I did have to replace the plastic ties once after rubbing on a raised parking barrier.

Cold air intake for an NB & aerodynamics.

We had an air scoop under the front of the car with about a 10cm diameter tube running up by the engine pointing to the KN filter.

State Insurance - Excess (Excessive!)

I believe parking in the street/car port vs a secure garage makes the difference to the excess with some insurance companies. AMI told me so many soft tops get slashed and that's why there is the $1000 excess.

AAAARRRGHHH! BLARDY WOF INSPECTORS!!!!

Nor I. Capital Mazda in Welly is just trouble for a warrant. They insisted I had certification for my adjustable Konis! So I said thank you very much, and continued to get my warrant with no problems at ABC Brake and Clutch. Never had a problem there. On Jan 23, 2008 9:49 PM, MN <mx5talk@mx5forum.co...

Injector cleaners?

Hi I had a cleaning system done in the US which was offered by Firestone. They hooked your engine to a bunch of tubes with some cleaning liquid and let your car idle for about 30 minutes then emptied a can of cleaner into the throttle body while revving the engine, then added some stuff to the fuel....

Definitely irridiums. You get more torque. Enough to feel a difference. And they last for ages, but in NZ about $25 each.

NA interior lights

My switch has been faulty, and sometimes the lights wouldn't turn on at all. I took off the light and cleaned the contacts which fixed the problem Also check your switches next to door hinges to see if they are working.

Hi, we often drive that road in a NA . Do push it around the corners and definitely don't bottom out on the bumps. Have you kept driving all the way to Johnstonville?

Peter

Hi, we bought a perspex one from Ross at Mx5mart and it screws into existing holes between the seats. Definitely made a big difference. The only thing, it leaves small gaps against the sides of the seats which I guessing the ones that fit over the tops of the seats seal completely. It isn't too high...
