Yes...mine is naturally aspirated with just intake/exhaust mods/advanced timing...so no idle or off idle issues. Leaving aside your tuning issues, there is a belief out there that a lightflywheel is a pain around town. When I fitted mine, I noticed the difference, in stop start traffic...it took me ...

Okay, have decided on Flying Miata Happy meal stage 1 clutch with 13lbs flywheel. I have driven cars with light flywheels and for a street driver found them to be a pain. So I have chosen the heavier of the 2 options.... Hopefully arrives next week and will have a report on the feel, driveability e...

Re: Depower Steering Rack
My question, why depower? What are we trying to achieve? Thanks for your thoughts. :?: For a road car/DD, I would leave the power steer as is...after all, MX5s were never criticised for uncommunicative steering (power or otherwise) It is however, a relatively common mod for track cars for the reaso...

Rack depower anyone?
Has anyone had a steering rack depowered using the FM method? Assuming you had a steering specialist do the work, I am trying to get a ballpark figure to have this done..Cheers

Please correct me if I am wrong but I think you have all been talking about the the 3.63 as if it was the 3.9 diff that came in the later 6 speed models.... Isn't the 3.63 the rare as, hard to get, only came in the last of the rwd 626's...diff? No. Find a dismantler with a 6 speed NB and ask them t...

Re: Diff Ring and pinion gears (Final Drive)
Hey guys Wondering if anyone knows the easiest way to get a 3.63 (Or 3.308 ha) ratio Ring and pinion set over here. Wanting one that will fit with a 1.8 size diff rather than the 1.6 one but I will take a 1.6 one if that is all I can find. Did our NB's come with them? As far as I can tell so far fo...

JR CAI
You can use eith in the JR CAI. Usually the replacement is a standard type pleated paper filter, but you can use a filter designed to be oiled eg K&N etc Obviously if you 'oil' a paper filter you will have issues... Cheers PS If you don't know how old the fuel filter is, that is the FIRST thing I wo...

Aftermarket bars usually come with e appropriate bushes. Beware that many 'kits' have a bar on the rear which alters the front to rear balance ie the rear bar is way too thick if you go really quickly ie you will oversteer wildly. First drive on the road with a heavy rear bar and you will think...gr...

Re: alignment
front toe out is not conducive to good handling! zero toe for the track is ok, otherwise at least a small amount of toe in is required. Front Caster: Maximum Camber: -1.5° Toe out 1/16" per side Rear Camber: -2° Toe in 1/16" per side had my alignment done to these settings they'r great but do wear t...

The Americans will try to tell you that no 1.8 NAs were produced in 1993 (I have a NZ new late 93 1.8), but this is because they have this weird practice of launching the next years 'model' half way through the previous year! As I have found when ordering parts from the US, rather than trying to edu...
