The movement in all the joints in the roof supports seem fine with no stiffness. Any ideas why its suddenly so h...

standard ride height ?

Can anyone tell me what the standard ride height is on the mx5
and where is the best place to measure it.
ours has standard 14" wheels and tyres. I'm guessing the top
of the wheel arch to the floor woul be the best indicator.

We are now the proud onwers of our first mx5

After a fair bit of searching and having test driven plenty we finally found an MX that we are happy with. My only concession was to allow an automatic box (i wanted a manual) but the car is really for my wife and she kinda took to the auto straight away when she drove it Its a 98 1.6. http://img.ph...

all we gotta do now is find the right car, its turning
out to harder than we thought as some peoples idea

the pieces of crap we've seen so far

another pre purchase question

Hi all, we've taken a couple of mx's out for test drives and I've noticed that if the cars ride over a small bump (even drain covers) in the road while cornering (even very slight corners) i can feel the back ends kinda stepping out slightly. never enough to upset the cars but just a kind of giggle ...

would you buy ?? not to sure if i should commit

We're looking at a 98 mx5 with 136000k on the clock.
There is no history to show its had a cam belt replaced.
I believe the cost of replacing is around 800 bucks.
apart from this the we're happy with the car,
What do you think, worth the risk or not ??

Its a Jap import British racing green with tan interior and polished wood steering wheel, H/brake and gearstick knob. The model pages says this combination was the series one ...
