sounds like it could be ether the igniter or cas on some cars the cas wiring goes brittle right by the plug so cold be a broken wire.

Just out of interest have you checked the cam belt? otherwise it sounds like you might have a broken wire between the cas and the ecu.

you can not use a gtx or any 323 ecu because they are distributor not wasted spark.

just a slight correction the 1800 vvt was released very end of 2000 ,2001 to 2004 are the same 1800 engine.easiest way to tell the difference from the outside between 98 to2000 and the later ones is the earlier ones have a orange rear indicator and the later ones have a clear indicator.

ok it's g1 miata link you can't tune it on a laptop you can only adjust it with a hand controller, also the internal boost control doesn't work. if i was you i would use a different boost controller like a greedy that doesn't need a tps signal .or just use a boost tap.

Timmo your right if you want paint job that won't last as long, paint can bridge the nooks and cranny's and crack with body movement . I personally remove every thing that bolts on because that way you get a lot less over spray and no dry edges,but that's me it really comes down to which way you wan...

if you want a top quality job you remove every thing bumpers, lights door handles,moldings,soft top. the price will depend on how much you do yourself and how much repair/prep work is required

if i am reading this wright the amp needle is going from say 6 down to 1 or 2 on the charger. if so then it is charging correctly the amp needle is showing the amps going into the battery from the charger not the amps in the battery.

it says it has abs but it doesn't , i would check the sticker inside the drivers door way and see if it is an rs. it has rs wheels

George you can not test it like that the hubs are at full drop and there for loading the cv's. You need to put the axle stands under the lower arm to simulate normal ride height .

simple answer is no a 1.8 drive shaft will not fit a 1.6 diff ,different flange,too short.

the easiest and cheapest way in the long run would be to ditch the factory loom and use a atom or storm wire in ,i can wire it up for you if you want .
