Good thinking.....mine is a very tidy fit, all fittings look like new and clearly size will be a factor, it's a sealed unit.

NA Battery

Looks like mine is on the way out, anyone replaced one lately with any
advise on what's needed, price etc. Current one has been suffering from lack of use, the car very much a "hobby car" for an older couple. Tks..

Spot on thanks, job done. Required a lot more force than you would expect but success. Your picture gave me the confidence to force it that little bit more. Now it's out you' wonder what the problem was.

All assistance and advice gratefully accepted. Now to find the right size bulb.

Aha, a Laphroaig and comparing it to a JW Double Black to assess the maltyness. Not easy and takes quite a few to get the picture. Of less importance, the bloody indicator light still hasn't budged and I'm deciding to leave it a more experienced operator. I have six months to go before I need a new ...

Brilliant stuff, thanks guys, the Pix was worth a thousands words.

Have been sampling a few seriously expensive single malt whiskeys so will defer any further attempts to a later time......(experience over enthusiasm)
so will report back later.

All assistance appreciated.

Side indicator lights..

Hi guys, been a while... Need to replace a bulb in the side indicator (in front of drivers door) on my NA. Googled it and there seems to be a suggestion that it initially moves rearward when pushed, then a screw-driver is used to lever the lug. Mine doesn't seem to want to move. Before I do somethin...

Topdown - Official Magazine

Hi Team, While I still own my MX5, I haven't been active at Club or Forum level for some time. On cleaning out a cupboard I found 19 copies of the Mag, dating from Oct 2006 to March 2010, and need to dispose of same. Anyone in Tauranga or surrounds interested ?...probably not worth the cost to post ...

Chrome work....

I bought another NA petrol cap assembly from TradeMe ($1-00) with the
intention of having it chromed.

Can anyone give me a ball-park figure for this type of job so I know whether I'm being had...?

Yeah, they're nice models although I think my photography flatters it a bit - the NA's are hard to come by now, probably no longer being produced.

My plastic window zip has been broken for years, I roll a beach towel up in it when I fold it down - works for me... Don't forget that there is an adjustment in the clips themselves (NA model anyway) that allows you a bit more reach on the piece that locks on. You may have to remove a plastic cover ...

Well, I don't know what your knowledge of the local market is, but $4.500 should see with a pretty nice NA. Don't worry about getting it dirty, we do have sealed roads here.... :D

1990 NA on Trademe

Don't know whether it's good value or not but the 1990 NA with 12.5000 K's on the clock for $11.500 really caught my attention. As the owner of a similar model, with a hell of a lot more K's, this really appeals as it must be the nearest thing to a new NA you're going to find, anywhere. However, san...

I love the suitcase latches in Jiff's photo, presumably to hold the boot down.

Considering the top speed of the MX5, is this sort of drama needed, or just to impress the easily impressed.....??

As the owner of a "high gloss" black top, I have to say that the yellow top should stay either in the garage, or on the yellow car. It looks bad enough on the blue one, but on the red.......yech !! I can think of several expressions to describe it, but better not.....moderators and all that  :...

Poor old Sherm.....

He was probably fuming when he posted this, and what does he get...frivolity.

What are the statistical chances of 2 MX5's being in the same place at the same time, even in Auckland.....?

The answer to the problem, drive a Kenworth.
