Better engine technology and the story of a happy clutch.

I'll have a crack at that... Your spirited drive heated up the windscreen washer bottle and the increased pressue blew the outlet hose off which pis*ed water over the coil pack. LVV Certification

That’s where I got mine done. I had adjustable shocks, lowered springs, braided brake hoses, style bar, turbo etc all certified at the same time. Never had a problem at the testing station since. Flat Batteries and charging...

I have one somewhere that I bought in the UK. It's a 12 volt 500 milliamp powerpack type charger with a couple of squeeze clamp things to go on the terminals.

It was really good over the winter when the car was outside in the cold and only driven in weekends.

Cheers.

Amber Bulbs

Quite a while ago I brought back 2 x clear indicator housings from the States complete with the harness and bulbs. I preferred the clear look to the orange reflector in the NZ models. One of the amber bulbs has blown and I need a replacement. I tried painting one but the WOF place knocked it back ev...

Amber Bulbs

Hi all Does anyone know where I can get Amber 1157 bulbs? These are the same as a brake / tail bulb with the dual filaments. They are standard in the US with clear indicators and have the turn signal and park light together. All I can find here is the single 1156 bulb. I sent an email off to Hella a...

Now you ask, I have both. I swapped out the amber side markers on the guard for clear ones. I also swapped out the amber markers/reflectors on the front and rear bumpers for clear ones. I tried to bring my 1996 Gleneagles back from the UK to NZ. I couldn't do it because the import regulations in NZ restrict it to 1996 or newer cars. Something about front impact regulations. Even though mine was a UK 1996 the chassis was a 1995 VIN number because the Gleneagles was modified by Mazda...

Greddy Turbo Kit - For Sale

While cleaning out the garage today I came across a Greddy turbo kit I bought second hand 7 years ago. It's for a 1.6 NA MX-5 / Miata I never got round to fitting it and then went overseas for 4 years and came back with a FMII :) The Greddy kit has been packed in a box ever since I bought it. The ki...

I used the drill and tap that came with the FM Kit.  You are welcolm to borrow them if you can get the same fitting.  Check out the FM Website, they should have the part number or size there.

Fuel consumption

Worst consumption ever for me was around the Donnington racetrack in the UK.

I got 72 miles from a full tank.

It worked out to be around 8 miles to the gallon.

Those big 550cc injectors on the FMII can suck huge amounts of petrol when they want to :)

I'm 100% sure there isn't one :)  I found out the hard way on the Northern motorway when I bought my first MX5 in 1995.   I'm not sure if the Mk2's do but the Mark 1's definitely don't have a warning light.   Mike.
