If you have burnt out an igniter my guess is the dwell settings are wrong in the mega guess. The mitsi igniters are a fairly reliable from my experience. Poor grounds can accelerate their wear tho. I've got a mx5 I'm stripping atm that has starting issues, I've tracked it down to the starter motor d...

I seem to recall you having paint on the hubs where the disks mount, that's a huge no no, same as painting the centre of a disk where the wheel mounts. The paint will burn off as it gets hot and can cause wheels to come loose. Hence why they aren't painted from factory. A build up of that paint coul...

What have you done to get it down that far? Also how did it effect the weight balance and do you have a full cage? Im a little reluctant to cut or remove to much as drifting is a contact sport and things like the heavy bumper supports have been left in so hitting things isnt an issue Its got 50/50 ...

So thanks to my good man Jose I got to weigh my car. Not bad without me at 975Kg(With 35L of fuel, helmet and a couple tools) and borderline perfect weight balance but also found out Im just over 90Kg which isnt so great... Fire up the hole saw and angle grinder, plenty of weight to get out of it h...

If you have a $10 head, wear a $10 helmet. If you are competing on a MSNZ sanctioned event that requires a helmet then you will require a helmet that meets one of the standards defined in the MSNZ Manual. See section 4.1 pages 9-10 http://www.motorsport.org.nz/sites/default/files/motorsport/manual/...

I can read and had noted what you had. Lowering a car more than lowering springs and keeping springs captive is generally mutually exclusive. You need either keeper springs which will cause you to loose shock stroke, shorten the shock which will cause you to loose shock stroke, shorten the body of t...

Re: Update!
Update. Okay so I installed them and it turns out I have KYB shocks with Mazdaspeed Eibach springs. These stupid ebay springs when I installed them and are as low as they can go while still being captive in the shock look like the STANDARD HEIGHT of a stock mx5. This has been a complete waste of ti...

You don't gain any lock, it's the amount of steering input you have to apply to get around a corner is more with a manual rack.BRM wrote:built4speed wrote:De power your current rack and use that otherwise you get a higher lock to lock ratio which is shit for the track.
You don't need much lock for track.
