What version Link are you running. I am running Toyota cops with a Link LEM V5. The Link is driving them directly, no igniter or dwell adjuster required, all handled in the Link.

Hey Keith, thats pretty good in terms of price! I'm just wondering what thermostat cover you went with on the back of youyr motor? I'm not sure if Kieth is using a spacer or not. I am using the Jackson Racing spacer, similar to the one you are offering in the classified along with a 1.6 (B6) cover....

Warrior, if you want to get rid of a couple of kilos you can also get rid of the unit under the dash and replace it with the plastic duct from the non AC version. I just happen to have one available if you want to go that way. Send me a PM if you want it.

No barrage from me Donovan. I agree with you.

Regarding the barrage I got re my comment on bike helmets, I take your point. As long as the helmets meet the standards defined by MSNZ they will be accepteble, maybe I should have used the word "many" instead of "most".

If you have a $10 head, wear a $10 helmet. If you are competing on a MSNZ sanctioned event that requires a helmet then you will require a helmet that meets one of the standards defined in the MSNZ Manual. See section 4.1 pages 9-10 http://www.motorsport.org.nz/sites/default/files/motorsport/manual/L...

Providing they are not too worn or corroded, your calipers can be rebuilt with a new seal kit. For a standard 1.6, the standard brakes with good pads are more than adequate for most situations. Last discs I bought I got from ADL. If you are doing all this work, replace the flexible lines as well. A ...

Well, engine is finally back where it belongs. Fired up without problem and sounds good. 5 years of Targa and other hard work had taken its toll and so it got a fairly comprehensive rebuild. The pieces of valve guide (inlet side so unlikely to be EGT) had damaged the pistons badly enough that I had ...

More damage

I am beginning to wonder if I should really keep my 5. 2 weeks ago one of the rubbish trucks sideswiped the front right guard (and readjusted my perfectly set up door mirror which broke off when I tried to adjust it back again). Then this morning about 3.45, some c**t decided to smash the right hand...

You may find that you need a new spring as well if the old one has rusted badly. I have just been going through this with mine. Will post some pics later if you want.

Re: New for roadster

I just purchased another roadster to keep the first one company..... Does this mean i have developed a compulsive shopping disorder or just enjoying having toys? it came with a new Haynes repair manual. That will come in handy for reference. The Haynes manual is very basic. For the NA you are...

If you smile at them nicely and catch them when not busy, your local dealer can give you the full ex factory spec of the car if you give them the Mazda chassis number.

It could be an earthing problem, however the horn, hazards and stop lights are all fed off the same fuse in the main fuse box in the engine bay. As the NA uses the same flasher for turn signal and hazard, the turn signals are going to be affected as well. The fuse is the one labled BTN and should be...

Unfortunately son's girlfriend had the sump ripped open on her car but the good news is that is being sorted at no cost to her. Took a bit of negotiation but the relevant people came to the party.
